1st Tournament
PALHEIRO GOLF TRAINING ACADEMY Saturday, 24th October 2009 About 25 youngsters with ages ranging between 6 and 16 participated in the 1st Palheiro Golf Training Academy Tournament, which counts for the order of merit and the eclectic. The competition was divided into three groups, according to technical level of each player. Group A includes technically advanced youngsters, who competed by playing a total of 9 holes. Robert Jesus came first, with a fantastic 3 points above the course’s par. João Pedro Mendonça came second (+4) and Jessica Otto third (+11). Group B is for intermediate players, and they competed along an adapted 6 hole stretch, with various contenders fighting for the first places. The results were: 1st Leonel Pereira (30 shots, winning with the best last hole), 2nd Gustavo Gouveia (30 shots) and 3rd Nuno Camacho (32 shots). Group C is for little ones and beginners, and they competed in a Chip & Putt competition, with five different positions. The three best scores in this group were: 1st Madalena Teixeira, 2nd Joaquim Gouveia and 3rd Maria Marta Domingues. The tournament’s revelation was Pedro Camacho who did a holeinone on hole 1 of the 6 hole stretch, 15 metres long.
